One word comes to mind about this race...heat! Living in London, I'm quite used to temperatures topping 28 degrees on a really good day, but shooting at Putrajaya just outside Kuala Lumpar was the ultimate experience in endurance and what feels like to be in a steam room 24 hours a day. Temperatures topped 35 degrees with humidity over 60% most of the time, the air conditioned media centre was my place of refuge.
Shooting in such a climate, I did encounter problems I've never dealt with before, my lenses were steaming up most of the time, my clothes were drenched and my eyes were stinging from the sweat so looking through the viewfinder became a bit of a nightmare, but like everyone else, I pushed myself through it and just fantasised about an ice bath back at the hotel.
Formula E is starting to take shape very nicely, a lot of logistical problems hit Beijing but Putrajaya was very well organised. Other than no one being able to get a cab back to their hotels in the evening, the race track was a great success and had a beautiful backdrop.
I have so many stories and moments from the race weekend, I would need an entire journal to get through it all, I may start writing one for the Current E website after every race, lets see!
